Bike and Ride
SEPTA welcomes customers who ride their bicycle for part of their journey, and offer several amenities for bicyclists. In addition, there are many bike trails located near SEPTA routes and stations
Bicycle Basics
Bicycles are defined as two wheeled and manually powered. Folding bicycles are permitted if they are collapsed in a folded position and safely stowed, as indicated below for each mode. Motorized bicycles are never permitted on any SEPTA vehicles. Bicycles can only be stowed in the designated areas indicated below. No other accommodations can be made
Children under the age of 14, bringing a bicycle on a SEPTA vehicle, must be accompanied by an adult. Any individual bringing a bicycle on a SEPTA vehicle must be physically able to lift, properly store, and unload the bike
In stations, customers with bicycles must use the elevators or stairways do not use the escalators; bikes may not be ridden in the platform area
Bicycle groups interested in traveling together on Regional Rail should contact Rail Transportation at 215-580-8403, at least 5 days in advance of the date they wish to ride

- Squeeze the handle up to release the latch and fold the bus bike rack down
- Lift your bike onto the rack and fit the wheels into the labeled wheel slots
- Raise the support arm up and over the front tire so that the hook rests at the highest point on the front wheel
