Subway & Trolley SEPTA operates several subway & trolley lines: Market-Frankford Line provides subway-elevated service from 69th Street Terminal and West Philadelphia through Center City to Frankford Transportation Center in Northeast Philadelphia. This is SEPTA’s most heavily-traveled route. Between 12 midnight and 5 a.m., Owl buses operate instead of trains. Broad Street Line provides both express and local subway service under Broad Street from the Sports Complex in South Philadelphia (Pattison) through Center City to Olney and Fern Rock in North Philadelphia. Between 12 midnight and 5 a.m., Owl buses operate instead of trains. Broad-Ridge Spur provides limited stop service between Fern Rock Transportation Center and 8th and Market Streets. There is no Sunday service on this line. Subway-Surface Routes — Routes 10, 11, 13, 34 & 36 — provide trolley service from West and Southwest Philadelphia and parts of Delaware County to Center City Philadelphia. These lines operate underground in their own tunnel between 40th and Juniper Streets near 13th & Market Streets. Route 100 provides service between 69th Street Terminal and Norristown, serving the Main Line area in Delaware and Montgomery Counties. Route 101 provides trolley service between 69th Street Terminal and Media, serving Drexel Hill and Springfield. Route 102 provides trolley service between 69th Street Terminal and Sharon Hill, serving Drexel Hill, Clifton Heights, Aldan and Collingdale. Fares The base fare is $2 cash, a SEPTA token, TransPass, TrailPass, or a Cross County Pass. If you pay cash, you must have exact change. Board by depositing either a cash fare or a token in the farebox, or by sliding your Pass through the electronic reader on top of the farebox. Routes 100, 101 and 102 have zone charges of 50 cents based on distance traveled. Detailed Fare information, including a complete list of zones, is available in Fares.
